1976 Main Gate, OutboundTo date, this is our only maingate photo from 1976. It's also the only photo I've seen where the guard shacks are both painted BLUE! All the others are some shade of white or beige!
It also looks as if a larger sign has replaced the previous sign (last seen in 1974) that was exactly the size of the frame. This one overlaps on all edges. (3 votes)

1946 Major Richard I. BongIn 1952, the Bong Theater was named after WWII fighter pilot, Richard Bong, who flew P-38 Lightnings in the Southwest Pacific. His 40 kills made him the highest scoring ace in American history.
